My life in Brazil
When you moved to another country you can find many difficulties when you trye to adapt. This is because each country has their own culture, language and traditions. I am from Lima Peru but one year ago I had to traveled to Brazil and I spent there like 6 months. I was fascinated by the culture and the incredible people that I could met there; however, I believe that my life in Lima was more pleasant.
In Lima the weather is warm. There are only two principal seasons: winter and summer. In contrast, in Brazil it's hot almost all the year and in summer is beyond all bearing. I couln't adapt to that kind of weather. In adition, in Lima there is no extreme cold because its located in a very warm zone. On the other hand, Rio de Janeiro is extreme hot in summers, since its located near to the Atlantic Ocean. Other important characteristic is the kind of transportation. In Lima, the public transportation is chaotic and disorganized. There are lots of buses fighting all the time, trying to gain enough passengers and because of that people's lifes are usually at stake. In Rio, the transportation is very well organized, there are subways, taxis and buses. The most remarcable thing is that everybody tryes to follow the rules and respect the other drivers and pedestrians. Nevertheless, I was always lost in Rio, it was difficult to learn the propper rutes to arrive home. While at Lime I knew all the highways and places to orientate myself.
Finally, I strongly consider that my life was more easy in Lima than in Rio. First, the weather in Brazil is extreme hot and changes slightly through the year. Second, the transportation was well organized but it was difficult for me to orientated in the streets of Rio de Janeiro. Despite all its difficulties I really enjoyed spent those 6 months in that beautiful city, but I definately could never change the releive of being in Lima, my hometown.
